Buttock enhancement can be achieved in two ways:

  1. One option involves fat grafting, meaning that fat is aspirated from other parts of the body and injected into the buttocks. This method is referred to as Brazilian butt lift (BBL) and is particularly suited for individuals who would like to reposition their curves.
  2. Alternatively, you may choose to receive a special butt implant that is “hidden” beneath the gluteal muscle. This treatment option is particularly well-suited to individuals with small buttocks and compact muscles.

The two methods can also be combined as needed.

Duration of treatment: 1-3 hours for both buttocks
Anesthesia: general anesthesia
Inpatient care: 1 night
Postoperative guidelines: compression garments for 4 to 6 weeks
Suture removal: not applicable
Return to (office) work: after 2 weeks
Strenuous exercise: after 6 weeks

During the personalized consultation, you will learn which method or combination of them can achieve the best results for you and Dr. Hubmann will develop an individual treatment plan based on his ABSOLUTELY YOU concept.

Frequently asked Questions

  • What should I do before the surgery?

Before you undergo buttock enhancement surgery with implants, you should be at a stable weight that you feel comfortable with. For a Brazilian butt lift (fat grafting), you must have fat reserves at other parts of the body (for example, on the thighs, the abdomen, or the hips) that can be removed and transferred to the buttocks. The good news is that in addition to achieving the buttocks you desire, you will also get rid of annoying excess fat in other places. Very lean patients may need to consume more calories prior to a Brazilian butt lift in order to build up the needed reserves. In your presurgical consultation, Dr. Hubmann will give you detailed instructions for any necessary steps.

  • What rules should I follow after buttock enhancement surgery?

After buttock enhancement surgery, you should plan for recovery time and refrain from strenuous physical exertion for 4 to 6 weeks. After a Brazilian butt lift (fat grafting), you must wear a compression garment for 4 to 6 weeks. The rear end of the compression garment will be cut out to prevent pressure on the transferred fat cells. To promote healing, you should avoid exerting pressure on your buttocks through prolonged sitting or lying on your back during the recovery period.

  • Will I be able to return to work after buttock enhancement surgery?

If you comply with the guidelines above, you may return to work. However, Dr. Hubmann recommends that you plan for enough time after any aesthetic surgical procedure to be able to recover fully from the operation.

  • Can buttock enhancement surgery be combined with other procedures?

Buttock enhancement surgery can easily be combined with other procedures during the same operation. These may include procedures on the abdomen, breasts, or other parts of the body. Please do not hesitate to discuss your goals with Dr. Hubmann during your consultation.

  • Is a Brazilian butt lift risky?

When performed by an experienced specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery who is well-versed in the use of fat grafting, a Brazilian butt lift is a low-risk operation that is only rarely associated with complications. Prior to every aesthetic procedure, Dr. Hubmann will inform you in detail about any individual risks.

  • Will I experience severe pain after buttock enhancement surgery?

Pain can occur during the first week after buttock enhancement surgery. However, during your stay with us, Dr. Hubmann will manage your pain and prescribe appropriate pain medication for your recovery at home.

  • Are the results of buttock enhancement surgery permanent?

The results of buttock enhancement surgery with implants are permanent. However, as with all implants, the body may react to the implants over time, and they may need to be replaced. After fat grafting, most of the transferred fat cells will remain permanently. However, as a living part of the body, these cells will also be affected by weight fluctuations. You should therefore not plan significant weight loss after the procedure.
