There are two types of buttock lift surgery:

  1. In upper buttock lift surgery, an incision is placed slightly below the traditional beltline. This method is used to correct sagging buttocks in a patient with significant excess skin on the upper buttocks.

  2. In lower buttock lift surgery, an incision is placed in the gluteal fold (crease). This method allows rounding and lifting of the lower buttocks.

In your personalized consultation, you will learn which method will achieve the best results. You will also find out whether the procedure can be combined with liposuction, fat transfer, or a butt implant.

Frequently asked Questions

  • What rules should I follow after buttock lift surgery?

After buttock lift surgery, you should plan for recovery time and refrain from physical exertion for 3 to 4 weeks. It is especially important to avoid bending far forward, for example, which can place pressure on the incisions. You should wear special compression garments for 4 to 6 weeks to promote healing and ensure that you obtain the new figure you desire.

  • May I sit or lie down after buttock lift surgery?

After buttock lift surgery, you may sit and lie down as usual. In the weeks following the procedure, you should not sit on hard surfaces for longer than 30 minutes.

  • When can I start exercising again after buttock lift surgery?

You can resume exercise after 6 weeks. Dr. Hubmann recommends that you work up to your usual training level slowly and in stages, as you would after any extended training break.

  • Will I experience pain after buttock lift surgery?

Some pain can occur in the days following the procedure. However, during your stay with us, Dr. Hubmann will manage your pain and prescribe appropriate pain medication for your recovery at home.

  • Will I have visible scars after buttock lift surgery?

Different techniques are used for buttock lift surgery. Scars from upper buttock lift surgery can be easily covered with most types of undergarments. Over time, any scars will significantly fade and become nearly undetectable. In lower buttock lift surgery, the incision is placed in the crease under the buttocks and usually disappears completely under your new buttocks.

  • Are the results of buttock lift surgery permanent?

Your lifted buttocks continue to be subject to normal changes of the body. It is therefore possible that your buttocks will start to sag again over time. You can counteract this to some extent by performing buttock-firming exercises.
