Excess fat can accumulate anywhere on the body. When it persists despite intensive exercise and dieting, it can be frustrating. In fact, the frustration can give way to resignation, causing you to abandon your healthy lifestyle because “it’s all useless anyway.” You gain more weight, and the vicious circle starts all over again. If you feel that certain areas of your body prevent you from achieving the figure you have always wished for, liposuction by Dr. Hubmann can help.
Inpatient care for 1 night
During liposuction, micro incisions are made in the skin, and fluid is introduced in the areas to be treated. This fluid loosens the fatty tissue, and the fat cells are gently and selectively removed with a special cannula that does not damage other tissue. This gives the treated area a lean, aesthetically pleasing shape. Dr. Hubmann uses water-assisted liposuction (WAL), which continuously irrigates the area during aspiration and minimizes bruising. High-definition liposuction can also be used to supplement regular and water-assisted liposuction. In this procedure, a very fine cannula is used for high-precision aspiration of the fat directly below the skin. The goal is to accentuate and shape appealing body contours. In both procedures, the aspirated fat cells can be reintroduced in the body to re contour the treated area or other body areas, such as the face. This fat grafting, known as lipofilling, can create volume without introducing foreign materials. Lipofilling is ideal for six-pack surgery, Brazilian butt lift, and breast augmentation with fat transfer.

Liposuction is an ideal method for targeted treatment of problem areas. If you would like to get rid of stubborn excess fat on the abdomen, hips, thighs (saddlebags), upper arms, or other areas of the body, liposuction is an ideal treatment for you. However, liposuction is not a substitute for weight loss.
After liposuction, you must allow your body to recover. Dr. Hubmann recommends that you do not plan any major projects during the week after surgery. The best strategy is to stay home and rest. However, in most cases you can resume office work after just a few days. After liposuction, it is particularly important to wear a compression garment consistently for at least 4 weeks. This will promote tightening of the skin and healing of the deeper-lying tissue.
Liposuction can easily be combined with other procedures during the same operation. These may include procedures on the abdomen, the breasts, the buttocks, or other parts of the body. Please do not hesitate to discuss your goals with Dr. Hubmann during your consultation.
Some minor pain can occur in the days following the procedure. However, during your stay with us, Dr. Hubmann will manage your pain and prescribe appropriate pain medication for your recovery at home.
Even after liposuction, the human body continues to age and undergo changes that may affect the area that has been treated with liposuction. While liposuction permanently reduces the number of fat cells, consuming excess calories will enlarge the remaining fat cells, and you may gain weight generally and in the ares treated. However, with a balanced diet and regular exercise, you can help prevent these effects.
