During thigh lift surgery, a vertical incision is usually made on the inner thigh starting near the groin. Depending on the amount of excess skin, the incision may be extended to the level of the knee. For gentle removal of the skin and to achieve an ideal shape, a combination of thigh lift surgery and liposuction is usually recommended.

It is important for you to plan for enough time to recover after your thigh lift surgery. During the first 2 weeks at home, the best way to do this is to relax in bed or on the couch with your legs slightly elevated on a large pillow. This will help reduce swelling quickly and promote healing.
During the first 2 weeks after thigh lift surgery, you should be gentle with your legs and limit movement as much as possible. When you get out of bed, you should keep your legs together and take small steps when walking.
If you have a lot of excess skin on your lower legs, calf lift surgery is also an option. In your personalized consultation, Dr. Hubmann will be happy to explain the special aspects of this procedure.
To allow your legs enough time to heal and optimize surgical results, you should not perform any exercise involving your legs for 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. However, you may resume arm exercises, for example, with light weights 1 week after surgery.
Thigh lift surgery can easily be combined with other procedures during the same operation. These procedures may involve the abdomen, hips, buttocks, or other parts of the body. Please do not hesitate to discuss your goals with Dr. Hubmann during your consultation.
Some pain can occur in the days following the procedure. However, during your stay with us, Dr. Hubmann will manage your pain and prescribe appropriate pain medication for your recovery at home.
The incision is on the inner thigh from near the groin to the knee. The length of the incision depends on your goals and the amount of excess skin to be removed. The scars fade significantly over time and are not visible under a knee-length skirt or shorts. Dr. Hubmann recommends that you regularly apply fat-containing cream or silicon-containing scar gel to the scar starting on the 15th day after surgery. In addition, during the first 6 to 12 months after surgery, you should consistently protect scars from the sun by wearing sun-blocking clothing or applying sunscreen with SPF of at least 50. This will promote fading of the scars and reduce the risk of scar tissue proliferation
Your reshaped thighs continue to be subject to normal changes of the body. It is therefore possible for small pockets of excess skin to form again over time. You can help prevent this to some extent by performing thigh-firming exercises.
