It is important for you to plan for enough time to recover after your arm lift surgery. During the first two weeks at home, the best way to do this is to relax in bed or on the couch with each of your arms propped on a large pillow. This will help rapidly reduce swelling and promote healing.
During the first 2 weeks after arm lift surgery, you should be gentle with your arms and limit movement as much as possible. Initially, the more taut skin may make it slightly more difficult to bend your arms, but this will quickly become easier.
Some pain can occur in the days following the procedure. However, during your stay with us, Dr. Hubmann will manage your pain and prescribe appropriate pain medication for your recovery at home.
If you have a lot of excess skin on your forearms, surgery can be performed on them. Dr. Hubmann will be happy to discuss the special aspects of this procedure with you in your personal consultation.
To allow your arms enough time to heal and achieve optimal results from the surgery, you should refrain from upper body exercise for 4 weeks. You will be able to use an stationary exercise bike after 2 weeks, however.
Arm lift surgery can easily be combined with other procedures during the same operation. These procedures may involve the breasts, head, face, or other parts of the body. Please do not hesitate to discuss your goals with Dr. Hubmann during your consultation.
The incision is made on the inner arm starting near the armpit and extends toward the elbow. The length of the incision depends on your goals and the amount of excess skin to be removed. The scars fade significantly over time and are usually undetectable under short sleeves until they have faded.
Your reshaped upper arms will remain subject to normal changes of the body. Small pockets of excess skin may form again over time. You can counteract this to some extent by performing arm exercises.
