The Face: Our Gateway to the World
The human face is one of the most complex and fascinating structures of the body. We display our emotions on our face and use it to express ourselves, as well as interact with and become closer to others. While other parts of our body are usually covered by clothing, our faces are visible at all times and therefore act as our “gateway to the world.”
Our calling card
When we encounter others for the first time, our impression of them often forms in a matter of seconds. The first time people see our face often permanently determines how they perceive us. Every face is different, and all faces change over time. Our skin slackens, and the muscles and tissues below the skin start sagging, causing our face to lose its youthful appearance. Some people barely recognize themselves in the mirror.
“That can’t be me! I don’t feel the way I look at all!”
If you are dissatisfied with the way you look, facelift surgery by Dr. Hubmann can help you present yourself to the world in a whole new way.
Lifting of various areas
Inpatient care for 1-2 nights
Many people associate a facelift with a mask-like appearance. However, Dr. Hubmann’s treatment objective is to restore your face’s youthful appearance. His aim is for you to look refreshed, recovered, and rested. Facelift surgery can tighten, lift, and reshape certain aspects of your face in accordance with your preferences and desires.
Forehead lift surgery can lift and smoothen the part of your face above your eyebrows. In the minimally invasive technique, small incisions are placed at the hairline for an endoscopic forehead lift, which lifts the entire forehead. If you have a significant amount of excess skin with deep furrows on the forehead, an incision can be placed in the scalp under your hair to allow removal of the excess skin. This can more effectively lift and smoothen this part of the face.
If your eyebrows sag, making you look tired, a brow lift can raise your eyebrows and make you look more vibrant. An endoscopic brow lift involves small incisions at the hairline at your temples. A keyhole technique is then used to place anchors below the skin. If the skin above the eyebrows has significantly slackened, causing the eyebrows to sag considerably, a discreet incision is placed directly above the eyebrows. Some skin is removed and some is lifted through an extremely fine incision.
Mid-facelift surgery is ideal for lifting and rejuvenating the area around, above, and below the cheekbones. For this procedure, an incision is placed at the hairline at the level of the ears. The lower-lying tissue layers are carefully dissected to allow them to be reshaped and attached below the skin. Dr. Hubmann uses the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) facelift technique, which prevents tension on the skin incision and creates only extremely fine scars.
If sagging is concentrated on the skin on the lower part of your face – the cheeks, jaw, and transition to the chin, lower facelift surgery is particularly suitable for restoring your youthful appearance. Depending on the extent of sagging, an incision is placed either in front of or behind the ear and continued to the lower hairline. Here too, the deeper-lying tissue layers are dissected with high precision to allow them to be reshaped and attached below the skin. Dr. Hubmann uses the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) facelift technique, which prevents tension on the skin incision and creates only extremely fine scars.
The superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) technique involves microsurgical dissection, shaping, and reattachment of the tissue layers below the skin. This method reshapes the relevant part of your face to restore your youthful appearance without the visible skin looking overstretched. Dr. Hubmann uses this technique for procedures such as mid-facelift or lower facelift surgery.
Excess skin of the neck can also sag and become unattractive, making the chin, throat, and neck look wrinkled and slack (“turkey neck”). Depending on the problem area, different techniques (neck lift, chin lift) can be used to remove the skin, and by dissecting the underlying structures, the neck can look slimmer and younger.
This new technique has become established and is used for nearly all parts of the face. For the procedure, cannulas are inserted under the skin. A microscopic barb is used to insert threads through the cannulas; the threads anchor the skin and lift it. The threads are absorbed over time but promote collagen accumulation in the surrounding tissue, which makes the skin more taut.

During the personalized consultation, you will learn which method or combination of them can achieve the best results for you and Dr. Hubmann will develop an individual treatment plan based on his ABSOLUTELY YOU concept.
As with all of his treatments, Dr. Hubmann performs facelift surgery with the utmost precision. You will receive close attention and care from both him and his team before, during, and after the procedure. Your adherence to the recommendations for postoperative care is essential to ensure that you are fully satisfied with the results of your facelift. This will pave the way to a new YOU.
It is important for you to keep the area cool after facelift surgery, which will help prevent swelling and bruises. In the first week after surgery, you should avoid any strain on your face, excessive talking, and chewing tough foods (such as steak). Dr. Hubmann also recommends that you keep your head and upper body somewhat elevated during this period. Sitting in a relaxed position on the couch or your favorite armchair and placing a second pillow under your head when sleeping will promote and accelerate healing.
Swelling and minor bruising are common after facelift surgery. In the first postoperative week you should not cover swelling or bruising with makeup, because this can negatively impact active wound healing. In addition, the marks from the surgery will be obvious during the initial postoperative period. Most people prefer to recover at home rather than go out in public
To allow your face enough time to heal and optimize the results of the surgery, you should refrain from exercising for 4 weeks.
Facelift surgery can easily be combined with other procedures during the same operation. These may include procedures around the eye, on the breasts, or on other parts of the body. Please do not hesitate to discuss your goals with Dr. Hubmann during your consultation
Some minor pain can occur in the days following the procedure. However, during your stay with us, Dr. Hubmann will manage your pain and prescribe appropriate pain medication for your recovery at home.
The scars may be partly hidden by your hair or behind your ears. In the hundreds of facial plastic surgery procedures Dr. Hubmann has performed, he has perfected his suturing technique, making the incisions nearly undetectable.
Your face will continue to be subject to normal changes of the body. It is therefore possible that your skin will lose some of its elasticity again over the course of time. In general, you can protect your skin from aging by consistently applying sun protection and diligently caring for your skin.
