In the past, women avoided talking about their pubic area, even with their closest friends. However, a more progressive and open zeitgeist and the widespread habit of bikini waxing have helped fading this taboo.
More and more women are talking with people close to them about what they consider to be aesthetic imperfections. These perceived flaws can severely impact the self-esteem of some women to the point that they may even avoid intimacy with a partner.
Enlarged labia minora, also called inner labia, can cause both aesthetic concerns and pain while exercising, wearing close-fitting clothing, or engaging in intercourse. Excess skin that covers the clitoris, as well as scarring after giving birth, can significantly reduce pleasure during sex

You will receive close attention and care from both him and his team before, during, and after the procedure. Your adherence to the recommendations for postoperative care is essential to ensure that you are fully satisfied with the results of your labiaplasty. This will pave the way to a new YOU.
Patients with enlarged inner labia relative to the outer labia may achieve a positive body image and self-confidence through labial reduction. In addition, labiaplasty can alleviate scarring and changes from childbirth, as well as slackened skin from aging, which can negatively impact your wellbeing and even cause permanent physical ailments. Special surgical techniques are used to remove excess skin, reshape, and rejuvenate areas of your genitals.
Your sensitivity to touch and your perception of pleasure can change after labiaplasty. Some parts of the skin may initially be less sensitive, but full sensitivity usually returns. While reducing excess skin aims to alleviate pain and feelings of shame, it should also enhance your pleasure.
The surgery may be performed under local or general anesthesia; if under general, then you will receive local anesthesia at the end of surgery to relieve postoperative pain that may occur. After the local anesthesia has worn off, you may experience some twinges of pain or slight burning in the days following surgery. However, the pain will subside quickly. During your stay with us, Dr. Hubmann will manage your pain and prescribe appropriate pain medication for your recovery at home.
Different techniques are used for intimate aesthetic surgery. Smaller amounts of excess skin can be removed using an incision on the everted surface of the labia. For other problems, the incision is made at sites on the vulva closer to the body. The wound is closed with absorbable sutures that do not need to be removed. The special properties of the skin around the genitals enable the incisions to heal quickly, and they become nearly undetectable.
Since the excess skin usually results from genetic predisposition, it will not grow back to the same extent after labiaplasty. Your pubic area, however, will continue to be subject to normal changes of the body. Therefore, the skin near your genitals will lose some elasticity as you age. During the operation, Dr. Hubmann will work to prevent these developments. He will carefully preserve important structures of your body that will help enhance your body image and attitude for a lifetime.
